Week 14 Reflection and Summary
What a rich week in God's Word! We've moved deep into the details of Leviticus, been amazed by God's greatness in the Psalms, and watched the gospel break through every boundary in Acts. If you've fallen behind, take this weekend to catch up - and if you're on track, take a moment to thank God for His Word this week.
Leviticus: The Offerings
This week's offerings - burnt, grain, fellowship, sin, and guilt - all point us to Christ, who fulfilled every one of them in Himself. Beneath the details of blood and ritual lies a simple truth: sinning against another person is sinning against God, and only a perfect sacrifice could ever put that right.
Reflection question: Which of this week's offerings speaks most powerfully to you of what Christ has done?
Psalms: Thirst, Trust and Praise
From David's thirst for God in the wilderness, to his trust that God would win his battle against secret enemies, to pure praise and a call for God's ways to be known among all nations - these five psalms carry us from need to wonder. Together they remind us that God is worth seeking, worth trusting, and worth praising to the ends of the earth.
Reflection question: Which of these psalms - thirst, trust, or praise - best describes where you are with God this week?
Acts: The Gospel Breaks Through
This week's readings in Acts showed the gospel breaking through every barrier we could put up - Saul the persecutor is transformed, Barnabas vouches for someone others distrusted, Dorcas is remembered for her service, and the Spirit falls on Gentiles for the first time. God shows no favouritism, and He delights in reaching people we'd never expect.
Reflection question: Is there someone in your life you've written off, the way the believers nearly wrote off Saul?
A Prayer for the Weekend
๐ Lord, thank You for this fourteenth week in Your Word. Thank You that Christ's sacrifice has fulfilled every offering, that You are worth our thirst and our praise, and that Your gospel breaks through every barrier we could ever build. As we rest this weekend, settle our hearts in Your holiness and Your grace. Amen.
