An Eye For God’s Mercy
Even in difficult circumstances, we can choose to focus on God's mercy rather than what He didn't do. Cultivate an attitude of humble gratitude that sees His grace even in life's hardest moments.
Cast Your Bread Upon the Waters
God rewards acts of kindness and hospitality in ways we never expect, often returning our generosity "in full measure" years later. Look for opportunities to show radical kindness and compassion today, trusting that your bread cast upon the waters will return.
Praying in Simple Language
Heartfelt, simple prayers move people more than eloquent, sophisticated language that lacks genuine faith. Pray from your heart using your own words rather than trying to sound religious or impressive.
Leaving Church Early
Old Mietjie Swart's wisdom teaches us that if we cannot endure one hour in church, how can we expect to endure eternity in heaven? Give your full attention to worship and resist the urge to leave early or let distractions pull you away from God.
Abram’s Dependence
True righteousness comes not from having everything together emotionally and spiritually, but from simple faith in God despite human struggles. Place your faith today in Christ's work, not in your own emotional or spiritual perfection.
Abram’s Darkness
Depression and emotional darkness can affect even the most faithful believers without indicating sin or spiritual failure. When darkness comes over you, don't doubt your faith or God's love - you're simply experiencing part of being human.
Abram’s Doubt
Honest doubt that seeks understanding is different from obstinate unbelief that refuses to believe. When God speaks to you, it's wise to test and question rather than blindly accept every prompting.
Abram’s Despondency
Even after great victories, faithful people can experience emotional slumps and discouragement without losing their standing with God. Allow yourself to be human today rather than maintaining a superficial spiritual facade.
Humans, Not Angels
God works through flawed human beings rather than perfect angels, and He doesn't expect us to lose our humanness through salvation. Embrace today that you're called to be a holy human, not a flawless angel.
Be Punctual
Thank you for support! One more BP for you – and it’s about the lost art of being of time.
Be Persistent
One last BP – a reminder to be persistent as we face the ups and downs of life.
Be Patient
Life is busy! But with the Spirit’s help, we can be patient in all circumstances.
Be Positive
It’s easy to be negative. Choose instead to be positive and not see yourself as a victim.
Be Prayerful
BP isn’t just a petrol station. Use it to remind yourself of some important things – like our call to Be Prayerful.
The Silent Treatment
Silence can be a powerful tool for connecting with God, but it becomes destructive when used as a weapon against others in our relationships. Choose today to communicate openly rather than withholding words to punish or hurt those around you.
Silence as a Symbol of Majesty
Jesus demonstrated that sometimes silent dignity speaks louder than words, especially when facing opposition or accusation. Learn when to respond with majestic silence rather than defending yourself with endless words.
Silence as a Form of Ministry
Silence can minister to our own souls and provide deep comfort to others in ways that words sometimes cannot. Practice the ministry of being quietly present with God and with those who are hurting.
Silence as a Response to Mystery
When we encounter God's greatness and mystery, silence becomes our natural response of awe and worship. Allow yourself to be speechless before God's majesty today rather than filling every moment with words.
Silence as An Aid to Memory
In stillness, we can reflect on God's past faithfulness and let those memories strengthen our trust in Him today. Take time to quietly remember how God has helped you before and let those memories encourage your faith.
