Trusting Jesus
True transformation happens when we trust Jesus over our own understanding and follow His lead, even when it doesn't make sense.
Allowing Jesus In
If you want the change that Jesus can bring, you’ve got to open yourself up and let him into your life. Even if people have hurt you, He won’t!
A Mutual Trust
Uncle Bud Robinson reminds us that mutual trust between us and God brings great joy: as we trust God fully, He trusts us in return, entrusting us with greater responsibilities. Are you living in this mutual trust?
Jerusalem Does Not Trust God
Zephaniah pronounces woe on Jerusalem for not trusting in God. We may say we believe, but do we trust?
Jerusalem Accepts No Correction
God longed to transform the people of Jerusalem, but they refused His offer of correction. How willing are we to be corrected by God?
My God is Trustworthy
When we end our prayers with the word “amen”, we are declaring our trust in God. He is a God who keeps His promises, as Psalm 145 points out.
Quiet Rejoicing in His Will
Frances Ridley Havergal was one of the great hymnwriters of her day. Some words from her biography inspire us this week – starting with her Father’s quiet rejoicing in God even in his illness.
Childlike Trust
We can choose to trust God like a child, or lean on our understanding like a teenager. Jesus’ words make it clear – childlike trust is the way!
God Works in Our Difficulties
When God seems slow in changing difficult situations, it is likely that He is at work preparing something wonderful. This is what Wally and Emily Herron found out in Bolivia, when a situation became very dangerous.
Obeying When It’s Hard
Wally Herron’s wife, Emily, learned that when we are obedient to God’s call, he “works out all things for good” (Romans 8:28).
To Find Trust
As he reads God’s Word, the writer of Psalm 119 discovers that he can trust in God’s promises.
There’s Nothing to Fear Now
Phil Wickham’s song “Battle Belongs” reminds us of the Biblical teaching that we have no need to fear when God is near.
What We See vs What God Sees
Phil Wickham’s song “Battle Belongs” teaches us a valuable lesson – that God can see the end of our stories, even if we can’t.
Don’t Get Despondent
When dreams are slow in coming true, we can start to lose heart. But, like Martin Luther King Jr, and like the saints in Revelation 2, let us persevere!
Good News – Peace Has Come!
What’s the good news of the gospel? That through Jesus, we can find peace with God and with others.
You Can Trust God’s Words
The angel assured Mary that no word from God will ever fail. These days we have His Word in the Bible, fully inspired – are we trusting in the promises contained in His Word?
God’s Calming Words
As Zechariah encountered an angel, he was gripped with fear – but a calming message was given to him to take his fear away. Perhaps God has the same calming words for us this Christmas.
God Remembers
God brought a message to a man whose very name meant “God remembers”. Let’s not doubt that God has remembered those he loves.
Step 2 - Belief
When we are tempted to do something not of God, it’s important that we keep believing in the Spirit’s power. The power of God is stronger than the power of the enemy, and we can resist temptation because we believe this!
