Asking for Prayer Support

It's a new year, and a big year for our family, as Shereen and I prepare for the twins to arrive in a short while. Every Saturday I send out an extra devotion to those who support my online ministry financially. And I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who donate. Between my daily devos, my Friday Classic Hymns, my Encounters, and my Canaan Melodies and other music, I put out quite a lot of material to follow my calling and support you in your faith. Your contributions for this work help so much - I have people in place now who help with the video editing and the website upkeep and all that, and your donations help me to pay them to do it. So for those who can support once off or with any monthly amount, thank you very very much - how I appreciate your help.

Following Paul's Example

But more than financial support, can I ask for your prayer support this year? You know, Paul would often ask his people for prayer support. He wrote things like this in his letters:

Romans 15:30-32: "I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Pray that I may be kept safe from the unbelievers in Judea and that the contribution I take to Jerusalem may be favourably received by the Lord's people there, so that I may come to you with joy, by God's will, and in your company be refreshed."

Ephesians 6:19-20: "Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."

Philippians 1:19: "for I know that through your prayers and God's provision of the Spirit of Jesus Christ what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance."

Colossians 4:3-4: "And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should."

1 Thessalonians 5:25: "Brothers and sisters, pray for us."

2 Thessalonians 3:1-2: "Brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you. And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith."

Your Prayers Matter

So with the spirit of Paul, I want to ask if you would consider praying for me - for my family, first of all, as we welcome the twins and learn to care for them. And for the ministry I do here online, that God would use it to reach people and spread His good news rapidly.

I've added something new to my website, and I hope you might consider it. I've always had a page called Support This Ministry with the details for how you can donate via bank transfer, or Paypal, or Patreon. But now I've added a new section for prayer support. It's a section where you can simply leave a prayer, and it will reach my inbox. I would be so blessed if you would head there from time to time and send a prayer my way.

I have been working hard and have a number of weeks of devotions in the bank ready to go, so that when the twins arrive I can focus on them but you can still be blessed by this work.

Your support – financial if you can, but your prayer support more importantly, will mean the world to me this year!

I so appreciate your kindness. May this ministry be a great blessing to you in 2026!
