Anchored by Your Prayers

After 13 days in the hospital, I'm home at last. No place like home, right? That's certainly true. And I'm so grateful to be back and for God's work in my life during this time. I've still got a couple of weeks of recovery ahead of me, just relaxing here at home, but I'm on my feet. I'm doing well and I'll be sharing with you again.

Thankful for Support

I want to say thank you firstly to Shereen for just taking over the groups and letting you know what's happening, as well as sending out the poems last week. I'm just so blessed to have her in my life.

And then I really want to say a big thank you to all of you. A huge thank you to all of you, in fact, for the support and the love and the messages and the phone calls. If we haven't responded to you, please don't take it personally. We've been a bit overwhelmed with all the things we've gotten from people and it was really so encouraging and so helpful to know that you care and to know that you’re praying.

Power of Prayer

Now I want to say to you that for the first time in my life, I could feel your prayers. It's an interesting thing. I've always heard people talk about this, and it's the first time I really experienced it. Your prayers anchored me in such a way I could almost feel like I was being held safe by the prayers of the people of the church.

What an amazing feeling. This is why we need to be praying. I'm so grateful for every prayer that you send up for me, friends. And I'm so excited to now carry on praying for the people in my life who need prayer, because, oh boy, if they can feel something like what I felt during my time in hospital, knowing that you were praying for me, that'll be great.

Keep Praying for Others

And so don't stop praying for people in need. If you've got people who need your prayers, please lift them up. Please pray that God would hold them safely. And I believe that just as I felt anchored by your prayers, many people will be anchored by our prayers if we'll pray them.

Thanks for listening, friends.

It's great to be back.
