Rerouted
A seemingly threatening storm passes by untouched, revealing God's often unseen hand of protection in our lives. Take time today to thank Him for the countless storms He's quietly steered you away from. Read or comment here:
I've been talking about getting closer to this storm the whole week. Well, guess what? The storm never hit!
It was the craziest thing. I was convinced it was going to be the storm of the century, but the road twisted and turned. Suddenly, instead of going straight at it, I was going away from it. Then I turned and I was going back at it again. The road went in all sorts of directions.
Before I knew it, I'd actually moved along and the storm was way off on my right-hand side and it never even touched me.
Recognizing God's Invisible Protection
Here's a thought, friends. How often might God navigate you out of a storm without you even knowing? I wonder how many times storm clouds have shown up in your life. Maybe you didn't even see them, but your life was navigated away from it and off the storm went without you even realizing it.
As I drove away from that storm, I thought to myself, how many times, Lord, have You delivered me from a storm without me realizing it? Thank You for being my GPS, for rerouting me time and time again.
Understanding God's Prevenient Grace
I think our lives could look a whole lot different from the way they do. I think there are many, many storms that you and I have narrowly missed, and so often we are upset about the ones we're in - as we have right to be, I suppose - but never realizing just how many times God has delivered us.
I'm thanking God today for all the times that He protected me and I didn't even know it. I mean, as a parent, how many times did you protect your child without them even knowing it? It's called prevenient grace, friends. God going ahead of us before we're aware of what He's done.
He's done it for me, I know. He's done it for you, I know. Let's praise Him today for rerouting us more times than we ever realized.
Thanks for reliving my crazy car ride with me this week. I hope that the lessons have been helpful.
