The Influence of What We Are

Luke: Friends, I hope you've enjoyed this week looking at some different words from Frank Mussel in his great book, A More Excellent Way.

Let me hand over to Trevor one more time to lead us through another chapter.

Trevor: Thank you, Luke.

OK, Chapter 44, The Influence of What We Are.

The Influence of Who We Are

I've always thought about how important that is, because we can speak and we can say great things and all of that to people, but so much it's about the influence of actually who we are, what we do, and how we live our lives that seems to make such a difference.

I remember when I first met Frank Mussel, spending time with him, I was quite a broken person, just really struggling through my Christian walk. Being with him was just like having a taste of Jesus! It really was, you know, he had this kindness to him, safety. It was just safe being with him. He was wise. It was an amazing thing to be with someone like that.

Is it possible for us to be like that to other people?

Living as a Reflection of Christ

Of course it is. With Jesus at our side, we can do it. Once again, I'm going to quote from his book: “We must realize, therefore, that what we are often speaks louder than what we say. Jesus said ;let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16) it's just so important the way we act the way we live our lives that can be transforming and inspiring to other people.

As Frank says, “by the spirit of Christ in you and going out from you, your presence becomes creative, transforming and healing.”

Yielding to the Holy Spirit Daily

Luke: I think that's the key, Trevor. The spirit of Christ in you is what enables you to be this type of person. Here at the top of page 95, Frank writes that it's a gift of God coming through the spirits permeating the whole of our lives - it's a spiritual radiation which touches the lives of others. It's all about being yielded to the Holy Spirit so that His love can be manifest through you.

This book by Frank Mussel really proves that he was this type of a person! I really want to encourage you to get this book and read it. These words have been inspiring to me this week.

There's over 50 short chapters in the book. Do yourself a favor, go and buy it online. If you read ebooks or if you'd like a hard copy, just send me a message and I can put you in touch with Trevor.

Frank was a man who embodied this radiance and fragrance of Christ, and I pray that you and I will be too.

Thanks again, Trevor for joining me this week and friends, may you have a wonderful weekend.

God bless.
