Supporters’ Extra: My Best Test
I want to tell you about my best test result.
It was a 54% that I got for a subject which had to do with sound design, when I was studying music production.
Now, it wasn't my highest mark. Because I can play and write music, I actually found the course quite manageable and even won the prize for top student for the three years of my studies. I was cruising through the course, and then in my third year I walked into the sound design class, and I just couldn't do it!! It was never something I had been interested in - I just wanted to make music, not sculpt sounds.
When Excellence Meets Difficulty
I still remember walking out of class one day in frustration, because I felt overwhelmed and out of my depth, and my lecturer actually came to me and said you have got to sort yourself out here, because even though you are doing so well in all the other subjects, if you fail this one - which you're going to at this point - you will not pass the year!
