Super-Conquerors
I want to read a passage about the victory that comes through the risen Christ. It’s from Romans 8:31-39.
Paul writes: “If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life (hello… Easter Sunday!!!)—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
Super-Conquerors in Christ
As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:31–39 NIV11)
Amen to that! What words! What promises of victory! And they come to fruition, friends, when we place our faith in the one who rose from the dead.
Did you hear how Paul said we are more than conquerors? If you have to translate the Greek more literally – you would say we are super-conquerors!
Easter is about victory. It’s about the ultimate defeat turning into victory! Say this again with me: Christ conquered… Christ is in me… I will conquer!!! With Christ in us… we can be super-conquerors.
Living Savior's Victory
I wonder if you need a win today. Perhaps you need some victory in your life rather than another defeat. Maybe you’ve gone into your day like the women on the first Easter morning – expecting only dead bones.
I think many people live their lives that way – not expecting anything but old dead bones. Most people who don’t come to church, why do they avoid it? It’s because they think church is just a gathering around dead bones.
But the women that day found a victorious Saviour. And friends, if you will believe today… You can also find a Saviour. He is not dead, He rose from the grave! And He promises those who believe in Him power: power to live as super-conquerors! He promises to be with you as a living Saviour!
Say it again with me: Christ conquered, Christ is in me, I will conquer!
Go into your day and live with the assurance that Christ is alive, and He’s with you in all you do.
