Supporters’ Extra: Unflustered Because of Prayer
I do hope that these devotions about Oswald and Biddy Chambers have blessed you! Go and get Mrs Oswald Chambers by Michelle Ule - it's a lovely book to read.
For your extra devotion today I want to read from page 69. Ule writes about their time at the college: "The early mornings spent with the Daily Light, her Bible, and prayers with Oswald became even more precious. In those quiet hours Biddy prepared herself for the day with a simple prayer she used her whole life: 'I give the day over into God's hands, completely, so that He will look after who comes.'"
The Secret to Staying Calm
This, I thought, was a lovely prayer. What a way to spend your mornings - with a devotional, a Bible, your spouse (if you have one), and some simple words of prayer.
In fact a little earlier on page 60, Ule writes this: "The secret to Biddy's unflustered reactions to her lengthy to-do list and surprise visitors lay in her prayer time every morning. She gave God the day and watched it unfold in His timing with anticipation."
Well I must tell you that my to-do list is quite lengthy these days. I often find I get surprise visitors… read or listen to this full devotion on my Patreon page here – for a monthly amount of your choice.
Biddy Chamber’ prayer time kept her calm and unflustered through life’s challenges.
