The Possession of Difficulties
I think one of the most profound moments in this book for me came from the words of a tract that Michael received which was called This Thing Is From Me. I want to read it to you.
God’s Message for You
“My child. I have a message for you today. Let me whisper it in your ear, that it may gild with glory any storm clouds which may arise and smooth the rough places upon which you may have to tread. It is short, only five words, but let them sink into your soul, and use them as a pillow upon which to rest your weary head. "This thing is from Me. " These are the words of God. "This thing is from Me."
And he said, the text concludes: "Are you suddenly called upon to occupy a difficult and responsible position? Launch out on Me. I am trusting you with the position of difficulties. And for this thing, the Lord thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou put thy hand unto."
Trusting Through Difficulties
“This day I place in your hand this pot of holy oil. Make use of it freely, My child. Let every circumstance as it arises, every work that pains you, every interruption that would make you impatient, every revelation of your own weakness be anointed with this oil. The sting will go as you learn to see Me in all things.”
And Cassidy says the words which hit me overwhelmingly were: "Are you called upon to occupy a difficult and responsible position? Launch out on Me. I am trusting you with the position of difficulties." And so he decided that he would launch out on God, and even if God had difficulties in store for him, he would go and do them with God's help. And he said, “hundreds of times over the years when the heat was really on, I have gone back to those words and found solace.”
Launch Out on God
And so, are you facing difficulties, my friends, where God is saying, "Launch out on Me?" Launch out on Him. Trust Him with all that you have here today, because even through these many difficulties, He will use you and He will help you.
Maybe like Cassidy, you can come back to these words time and time again in your life when the heat is on and recognize that even when God entrusts you with the position of difficulties, He does it so that you will launch out on Him and walk alongside Him in those tough times.
He is there to help you! Launch out on Him today and every day, like Cassidy did.
