Remember the Blessings
What a year 2022 has been! It's certainly been one to remember in various ways. And so what I want to do this week is help us to remember 2022. And to begin with, let's remember the blessings that we've enjoyed in 2022.
Take a moment with you and think back on your year. Think back on the good things that happened this year. Think back on the blessings that God has given you this year. Psalm 146:5 says “Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God.” You and I, as people of God, have certainly been blessed in many ways this year. Maybe you can remember good times with family, with friends. Maybe you can remember moments, laughs, joyful times, things you enjoyed. Maybe this year you did something you always wanted to do, ticked something off your bucket list. Maybe God blessed you with something new.
Grateful for Support
This year for me, friends, I particularly want to say thank you to you all for blessing me this year. It was a year ago that I left my job at eMseni Methodist, convinced that God had called me to stay here in Boksburg to continue ministry here. But I had no job. I didn't know how God was going to provide. And so, I put out the appeal to you, my listeners, for donations to help Shereen and I along. And I've been so blown away by your support. I ended up having major surgery during the year and if we didn't have the support from you guys, I don't know what we would have done.
In fact, I don't know how we would have survived if your donations hadn't come in. And so, I count myself blessed by God because of your generosity. Friends, if you're able to donate to this ministry, I would so appreciate it. It really enables me do the devotions, the encounters, the Friday hymns, the Bible in two years, which some of you are doing with me, online courses and more.
And so, thank you, thank you for donating and in so doing, equipping me so that I hopefully can equip you through all the online ministry I do. I'm blessed this year in particular because of that. I'll always remember 2022 is the year that I was blessed to do online ministry because of your generosity.
Reflecting on Blessings
How about you friends? What blessings are you thanking God for as you remember 2022? Don't leave your gratitude unspoken, but spend time in prayer today thanking God for his blessings this year.
