Ideas Change the World

Melissa received this amazing prosthetic arm that could do incredible things. And the great miracle, which you'll read about if you read in the book, is that she could actually feel through this arm. It wasn't just a stump, but her brain recognizes it as a limb, and so she can actually feel in a pretty normal way.

Incredible! The technology is frightening! And it was one of the enjoyable things about this book—seeing how far the technology has come.

It was a long process of recovery, but her body responded in an amazing way, which again made Doctor Seth believe that this was a God-moment, that this was supposed to happen.

The Power Within

On his way to see her shortly after the operation, Doctor Seth found a little kids' book to give to her, which was called What Do You Do With an Idea? It was a story of a little boy who had an idea and went and showed all sorts of people this idea. Some of them laughed. Some of them just told him why it wouldn't work.

But the idea stays with this little boy until he turns it into a reality. And the last page of the book says this: “What do you do with an idea? You change the world.”

And so he took this book to Melissa, and after running through the tests that he had to do with her, he handed her this book and got her to sign it. You see, Melissa believed in this idea of this prosthetic limb when Doctor Seth didn't even know about it, and she believed in him to do the surgery, even though it was the first time that he’d done something like that.

And after all his research and going to all these different conventions, he came with this plan for her to have the surgery—and she believed in it. And he said to her, "Melissa, thank you for believing in my idea. Thank you for not laughing at it or telling me all the reasons it wouldn’t work."

God Inspires Innovation

It’s an incredible story, friends, and it just reminds me that God can do anything. God can do great things through you if you will go through with your ideas. Oh, don't let your ideas die, friends. Maybe you've got a great plan to do something for God. Do it! Do it. Go for it.

What do you do with an idea? You change the world. You don't let it fizzle out. But here's the thing. Do it for God's glory. This is what Doctor Seth was all about—doing something that would help people and would glorify God.

Glorify Through Action

In the end, all the advancements in the technology, they're God's! They're not ours. Yes, He has granted human beings amazing capacity to learn and to grow and to discover. The more we learn, the more we just see how amazing He is.

Go further for God. Do great things for God. If He's planted an idea in your mind somehow, go through with it.

Give thanks to God for all the amazing things that He's inspired people to do. And do what you can do for Him, because your little idea might just end up changing the world.
