Risen with Healing in His Wings
Hey, it's Christmas Eve! I hope the festivities are flowing in your home as we look at these last few words of this great Christmas hymn.
Hail the Heav'nly Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and Life to All he brings,
Ris'n with Healing in his Wings.
So there's more worship. “Hail the heaven-born Prince of Peace. Hail the Sun of Righteousness”. Worship Him. Give Him glory.
Son of Righteousness
“Light and life to all He brings, risen with healing in His wings.” Now, this is an interesting verse for Him to throw into this Christmas song, because it actually comes from an unexpected source: Malachi 4, the very last chapter of the Old Testament.
It's a pretty hectic chapter if you go and read it, about how the day of judgment is coming, where fire will burn out all the evil people and all of this type of stuff. But verse 2 says this: "But for you who revere My name, the sun of righteousness will arise with healing in His wings."
And I like the NLT says, "and you will go free, leaping with joy like calves led out to pasture."
Healing in His Wings
Jesus has fulfilled this! He's the Sun of Righteousness who came with healing in His wings, and He rose with healing in His wings - let's remember this Christmas that this little boy would live a wonderful life. He would die on the cross in our place, and then He would rise again with healing in His wings, able to heal us, make us new so that we can go free.

Don't let Christmas go by without having worshipped the Prince of Peace, the Son of Righteousness, who came and brought healing in His wings for you and me.
Oh, what a miracle Christmas is! I pray that you will have a blessed time this Christmas, but I pray most of all that you're going to connect with Jesus, the Sun of Righteousness, in a new way, and that with healing in His wings, He will touch you, make you new, and give you great joy.
