Week 6 Monday
Today we watch Judah's sin exposed and Joseph's integrity remembered, join David in awe before the King of glory, and hear Jesus call us to watchful, faithful living as we wait for His return.
Genesis 38
📖 What are we reading?: Judah's shameful dealings with his daughter-in-law Tamar are laid bare - a story that sits in sharp contrast to Joseph's integrity in the chapters around it.
✞ What does this passage say about God?: Even here, in one of the more sordid stories in Genesis, God's grace is at work behind the scenes - for it is through Judah's line that Jesus Himself would one day come.
🛐 How does this passage teach us to live?: Judah's compromise stands as a warning, while Joseph's integrity - even in far harder circumstances - stands as our example. Which one do we more resemble today?

✞ What does this passage say about God?: He is the King of glory, owner of the earth and everything in it, strong and mighty, and worthy of our worship!
🛐 How does this passage teach us to live?: We are called to holiness in the presence of a holy God. Consider today how God calls you to have clean hands and a pure heart as you trust in Him.

📖 What are we reading?: Jesus calls His followers to stay watchful and ready for His return, warns of the fire and division His coming brings, and urges us to read the signs of the times and settle matters while there is still time.
✞ What does this passage say about God?: He is a Master who rewards faithful, watchful servants, and a Lord who will return when we least expect it. His coming naturally brings division among people.
🛐 How does this passage teach us to live?: We need to live careful and watchful lives, ready for his return any day.

🙏 Lord, You are the King of glory, holy and worthy of our worship; forgive us when we compromise like Judah, and help us live instead with integrity like Joseph - watchful and ready for the day You return. Amen.
