Giving God Your All
DL Moody was a great man of God, and his life was changed when he heard somebody say this: “The world has yet to see what God can do with and for and through and in a man who is fully and wholly consecrated to him.” And the writer of this biography of Moody says “the statement took hold of him and he thought to himself, ‘He didn't say a great man, a learned man, a rich man, an eloquent man, a clever man, but simply a man. Well, I am a man. It lies with the man himself. Whether he will or will not make that full and entire consecration. I will try my utmost to be that man.’”
Wholehearted Devotion to God: Are You All In?
Now, please note this is not a male thing. This is man and woman, it was just the way they spoke then. But did you see his passion here? Basically, he said every person needs to decide, either to make a full and entire consecration to God or not. But I'm going to try my utmost to make a full an entire consecration to God.
It reminds me of that hymn that says:
Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord to Thee.
Take everything of me, Lord, and use me! How about you today? How about your faith? Is it an entire full consecration? Or do you jump in and out of the Christian life, using it when it's necessary, jumping out when it's more convenient?
Total Consecration: Surrendering to God's Will
What could God do through you and with you and for you and in you if you are fully and wholly consecrated to him? Oh, believe me, God will use you even in your weakness and frailty. But how much more powerfully will he use you if you're fully and entirely committed?
Would you join me in praying today? Lord, I give myself to you. I hold nothing back. Take it all. Take it all in. Use me. May I like DL Moody live a fruitful Christian life because I've held nothing back from you oh God.
