The Heart's Response – Awakening to Grace
Have you already given up on Lent? Don’t quit yet. God wants to deal with that hard heart and bless you, if you will persevere.
Faith for the Journey – Mountain-Moving Faith
Charles Wesley’s cry for a deeper faith resonates in our hearts. May this Lenten journey bring you to a mustard-seed faith that moves mountains.
The Light That Guides – Walking God’s Paths
Charles Wesley’s guiding light was Jesus, and His truth found in the Bible. Will you look to Jesus for guidance this Lent?
The Cost of Discipleship – Taking Up Our Cross
We are called to radical self-denial and sacrifice. Will you take up your cross this Lent?
The Mirror of Truth – Examining Our Hearts
We begin a Lenten journey together with challenging words from John Wesley about examining our hearts. Use this Ash Wednesday to think carefully about what needs to change in the way you live and think.
In the Desert… You’re Loved By God
David would rather be in the desert with God than in the palace without Him.
In the Desert… Glorify God
David, Job, Paul, and all Christians learn to worship God, even in their deserts.
In the Desert… Remember God
Looking back on God’s past faithfulness can give us great hope for the present and the future.
In the Desert… Long for God
Deserts make you thirsty. But there is only one place to go to quench your spiritual thirst.
In the Desert… Seek God
We all go through spiritual deserts. Do we, in times like these, seek God?
False Honour
The experts in the law made great memorials for godly people, but never lived in godly ways. What a mistaken way of Christian living!
False Helpers
Jesus had stern words for those who were knowledgeable but had no compassion or love. Yes, we should know His Word, but it’s more important that we serve and help people with His love.
False Humility
The Pharisees cared more about what people thought than what God thought. Yes we must represent God well, but never in a way that puffs us up.
False Generosity
Jesus saw that the way in which the Pharisees tithed didn’t honour God. Let’s be truly joyful givers with our hearts in the right place.
False Cleanliness
Jesus confronted the Pharisees for their inner sinfulness, even though they appeared clean and holy on the outside. Do you need an inner cleansing today? He is willing to provide.
Prayer is Effective
Does prayer change anything? According to James, yes it does. Pray with expectation that your words move God!
Prayer is Encouraging
Real prayer is encouraging, but it is in conversation with God that you remember how He loves you.
Prayer is Engaging
Prayer is not just going to God with a list. It’s about engaging with God and nurturing a relationship with Him.
