Supporters’ Devo: Thomas Carlyle
The tragic story of Scottish author Thomas Carlyle shows how busyness and neglect can lead to devastating regret when we realise too late how much we meant to those we ignored. Take time today to show love and attention to the important people in your life before the opportunity is gone forever.
Repairing Relationships
King Saul's tragic story shows how superficial relationships and unresolved grudges can lead to spiritual isolation and deep regret. Choose today to cultivate authentic relationships and resolve any bitterness you've been carrying before it's too late.
Found Holy
Sin has a way of gradually choking out our spiritual life if we don't address it head-on through prayer and God's cleansing power. Take time today to honestly examine the patterns of sin in your life and bring them before God for His transforming work.
No Regret Finances
Many people carry deep regrets about how they've handled their money, missing opportunities to invest in eternal things rather than temporary wealth. Choose today to examine your financial priorities and consider how God might be calling you to use your resources more faithfully.
No-Regret Parenting
Many parents today are abdicating their responsibility to raise their children, leaving them to schools and other influences while pursuing careers and material success. Take intentional action today to invest meaningfully in your children's lives before it's too late to make a difference.
Supporters’ Extra: Be Still and Wait Patiently
In a world of much evil, David advises God’s people to be still, wait, and not fret. How fitting for our lives today.
Commit Your Ways to Him
David implores us to commit to God. Are we fully committed, or half-committed?
Delight Yourself in Him
What’s your deepest delight? David’s words in Psalm 37:4 point us to the best place to find delight.
Dwell in the Land
Fight or flight can apply in our spiritual lives. Sometimes God says “go”, but sometimes He says “stay.
Trust in the Lord
Psalm 37 tells us to trust God. What’s the difference between trust and hope?
God’s Whole Sanctification
God’s offer is not a ‘half-off’ deal. He wants to sanctify the whole of you! Will you submit to Him for this?
God’s Circumcision
God wanted Abraham to physically circumcise the males in his household, but the New Testament teaches us that in Christ, God wants to give us a spiritual circumcision, cutting away our old sinful selves. Have you submitted to Him for this blessing?
God’s Desire
God desired that Abram become Abraham, and Sarai become Sarah. He wants you to be made new too – but you have to play your part.
God’s Commitment
God is not just an “I AM” God, but an “I WILL” God. He has proven Himself as the one who fulfils His promises. Trust in Him today.
God’s Name
God appeared to Abram and revealed His name to encourage His servant. Perhaps you need to hear again who God is, and that His promises are true.
Supporters’ Devo: The Greater Richness
I’m grateful for your kind generosity in supporting this work. Please enjoy an extra Saturday devotion about real prosperity, and a story about Uncle Bud Robinson, in your extra supporters’ devo!
Don’t Fear Generosity
Jesus commands His followers to sell possessions and give to the poor, storing treasure in heaven rather than on earth. Show radical generosity to those in need, trusting that God will provide for you as you care for others.
Don’t Run After These Things
The pagan world runs after material things, but Jesus calls us to seek God's kingdom first and trust that our needs will be provided. Pursue joy in God rather than chasing possessions and comfort.
Don’t Worry, But Don't Sit Around
Jesus teaches that worrying about money and possessions won't add a single hour to our lives, whilst God's provision for His children is certain. Trust in God's care through prayer and thanksgiving rather than anxious worry.
