Bible in 2 Years
Every weekday we will read:
- an Old Testament passage
- a poetry passage: Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon, Lamentations (we repeat this set in the 2nd year)
- a New Testament passage (this will take us 2 years this time, rather than the old system where we repeated the whole NT in the 2nd year)
Each day has a short summary of each reading, some points to consider, and extra info for those wanting to dive deeper.
On Saturday I'll send a summary of the week, and you'll have the weekend to catch up if you fall behind.
Looking forward to it!
Week 3 Reflection and Summary
Another week in the books - well done for sticking with it! This week we watched judgement fall on Sodom while Abraham's faith was tested to the limit, sat with David through honest laments that always ended in trust, and saw Jesus move from calling sinners to healing, teaching, and forgiving with extraordinary compassion. If you've fallen behind, the weekend is your chance to catch up.
Week 3 Friday
Today we watch a servant's prayer answered in remarkable detail, hear David describe the blameless life that lets us dwell in God's presence, and witness a sinful woman's extravagant love for Jesus put a self-righteous Pharisee to shame.
Week 3 Thursday
Today we watch Abraham secure a small foothold in the land of promise, hear David despair over those who deny God altogether, and stand in awe with the crowds as Jesus raises the dead and answers John the Baptist's doubts.
Week 3 Wednesday
Today we watch Abraham's faith tested to the limit on a mountain, hear David move from despair to praise within a few short verses, and sit under Jesus' sermon on the plain - His most searching teaching yet on how His followers are to live.
Week 3 Tuesday
Today we watch Abraham repeat an old sin, hear David contrast the flawless words of God with the empty words of men, and see Jesus defend His disciples before withdrawing to pray all night and choosing His twelve apostles.
