A Humble Man
My great uncle Cockie died a few weeks ago. He was a humble man of God! He made me think of Jesus' words in Matthew 6 about treasures in heaven.
Jesus Calls us To Live Good Lives
Our good works don't save us... but we ARE called to good works as a result of our salvation. They are the "fruit", not the "root"! Let's hear Jesus' words commanding us to live holy lives in His honour.
Jesus Offers Mercy to Believers
Jesus is our judge, but for those who are saved by His grace, there is no fear of condemnation. What wonderful words of hope we hold onto today!
Jesus Judges in Place of the Father
Will there be a day of judgement? Jesus' words point to it. Don't think that nobody can judge you - there is One who has that right!
Jesus is One With the Father
As the religious leaders pushed him, Jesus startled them with the claim that he was equal to the Father. Some people deny this today... is it true?
Jesus is Always At Work
When questioned about his authority, Jesus didn't hold back! First, he told how he and his Father are always at work. Isn't that encouraging today - that, even if we can't see how, God is at work in our lives and in the world. Hold onto this in faith today.
A Crown of Righteousness
We may receive crowns from Jesus as rewards for our faithfulness on earth - but in the end, like the elders in Revelation 4, we will cast them at His feet and say "you are the worthy one!"
A Crown of Glory
Peter shows us that a crown of glory will be given by the Chief Shepherd to all those who shepherded others in His name. Who are you shepherding today?
The Crown of Rejoicing
A young man started a Sunday School class and only one boy showed up. Together these two became great men for God and led hundreds to Christ. What a crown we will be given from the Lord for leading others into His kingdom.
The Incorruptible Crown
Paul speaks of the incorruptible crown which is won by self-discipline, enthusiasm, and wholehearted dedication to our faith. Will you receive this crown one day?
The Crown of Life
John Wilbur Chapman's sermon on the Crown of Life explores the timeless message of perseverance and faithfulness, reminding us that whether our calling is great or small, steadfast dedication to God's work will be rewarded in eternity.
Called out of Darkness
Peter says that God's people are called out of darkness into light, in order to praise God! How vibrant our praise would be if we remembered why we are praising.
God's Special Possession
Peter calls the church 'God's special possession'. Do you know that you are treasured by God?
A Holy Nation
Peter calls God's people a "holy nation". Have we forsaken our call to holiness?
A Royal Priesthood
Peter calls God's people a "royal priesthood". Do you know that if you're in Christ you're not only royalty, but you're a priest?
A Chosen People
Peter calls the church God's "chosen people". In what sense are we 'chosen'?
Essentially a Man of Prayer
William Duma was 'essentially a man of prayer'. Might the same be said of us?
Confessing and Forgiving
William Duma helps a dying woman confess her sin to her husband, leading to forgiveness and peace, reminding us to confess and forgive as part of God's way of healing.
Don't Wait Too Long
A young man repeatedly postpones his decision to accept Jesus, with tragic consequences, urging us to say 'yes' to Christ before it's too late and to share His love with others while there's still time.
The True King
William Duma’s bold faith leads King Sobhuza of Swaziland to accept Jesus Christ as King of Kings, highlighting the importance of making Christ the true ruler of our lives.
