Renewing Our Vows
Josiah helped the people of Judah recommit to God - like a couple renewing their wedding vows. Sometimes we Christians backslide, and need to recommit to our God - for we are his precious bride.
A Heart for People
King Hezekiah foreshadowed Jesus in his love for those whose hearts were right, even if they hadn't followed the letter of the law. May we too love like they did.
A Heart for Worship
King Hezekiah reignited Judah's passion for community worship! We need this in today's world - individual spirituality is essential, but so is worshipping in a community.
Taking Responsibility For Our Lives
Hezekiah could have blamed his father for ruining the nation - but he stood up and made change without playing the victim. Let us do the same.
Getting Rid of What’s Bad
Hezekiah cleansed the temple of the things that defiled it. Today, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We need to cleanse our temples, so that they may honour God.
Focusing on What’s Good
King Hezekiah didn't just avoid evil, he focused on what's good. We must do the same in our Christian lives.
Avoiding Bad Company
One blemish on Jehoshaphat's life was the company he sometimes kept. Bad company corrupts good character. Be careful who you align yourself with.
Relying on God’s Strength
Jehoshaphat was facing trouble, and so he decided to fix his eyes on God. And with his eyes on God rather than the enemy, he conquered. We can be victorious when we focus in the right places.
Seeking God’s Guidance
Jehoshaphat sought God's will when times got tough. He used Scripture, he prayed, he fasted, he consulted others. Let's learn from him and do the same.
Following God Wholeheartedly
We can follow God out of duty, or out of delight! Jehoshaphat followed God with all his heart. How about us?
Following God with Devotion
Are we devoted to God, or half-hearted in our faith? King Jehoshaphat inspires us to a life of full devotion.
A Christlike Life
Everybody who knew him said Bill Wilson was like Christ. How will people remember you? Let's live like Jesus did.
All is Well
When Bill Wilson knew he was about to die a terrible death, his faith enabled him to still write "all is well"!
The Power of a Smile
Like many people of great faith, Bill Wilson could smile joyfully even in the face of turmoil and chaos. And his joy was infectious on the difficult adventures to the Antarctic that he undertook. Will your joy be infectious today?
Joy in Small Things
Bill Wilson knew how to find joy in the small things. For him, God's wonder could be found almost anywhere, if he just opened his eyes. How much wonder we miss because our eyes are closed!
Using Our Time Wisely
Bill Wilson was said to live three days to other people's one! Paul calls us to make the most of every opportunity, as Christians. Let's live our lives well and use our time wisely to do good for God.
Using What You Have For God
Bill Wilson used his extraordinary gift to point others to God. What gifts, talents and passions do you have that give God glory? Your calling is to use these things for Him.
God in Nature
Bill Wilson found that God was real and wonderful in nature. The outdoors were far more glorious than a church building to him! Have you spent time in nature of late, marveling in God in His created beauty?
Faith Must Be Practical
Bill Wilson believed that practically living out the Christian life was more important than theories and theologies. I agree. Is our faith more than just theory?
A Hard School
When Bill Wilson went through difficult times, he could see them as opportunities for learning. Can we see the difficult times in our lives as "schools" in which we can learn and grow?
