Many people in the world are obsessed with treasure, devoting much time and money and energy to find riches. But Jesus taught that true treasure is found not in a city of gold, but in the kingdom of God.

How do we become citizens in the kingdom of God? No payment or paperwork is required – just quit sinning, quit doubting, and quit waiting!

Jesus’ claims are difficult to believe for some. But when you take a step in faith and ask Him to heal your unbelief, He will do it.

Jesus’ message when he began preaching was a call to repentance. With His kingdom at hand, let’s turn from sin, rather than simply apologizing for it.

The Kingdom of God is ready for us. Why do we often wait to move into the blessing God has offered? Stop putting off coming to God, and come to Him today.

Jesus came to set up a new kingdom on earth. But His kingdom is nothing like the kingdom of the royal families of today.

The way Paul showed love in the letter to Philemon is a picture of how Jesus loves us

Philemon was rightfully owed an apology and payback by Onesimus, but Paul pleaded with him to forgive. Perhaps it is time for you to forgive somebody, even if they owe you?

Paul the servant leader offered to take on the debt that Onesimus owed Philemon. What a picture of servant leadership!

When something needed to be done, Paul could’ve stamped his authority and forced his own way. But instead he appealed in love. This is the Christian way of leading.

Paul was the type of person who built people up. We followers of Christ should always be encouraging and not breaking people down.

People have a habit of delaying their day of salvation. They think “I’ll do it tomorrow” and then tomorrow never comes! But Paul says that TODAY is the day of salvation. Will you accept His offer today? .

What is the salvation God offers us? It is salvation from sin’s punishment, sin’s power, and one day sin’s presence.

God uses all sorts of things in our lives to reveal Himself and draw us closer to Him – even when we aren’t aware. But in the end, we’ve got to accept the invitation and not reject it.

Who deserves salvation? None of us. Who is offered salvation? All of us.

Onesimus was slave who ran away from his owner Philemon, and encountered Paul who led him to Christ. There’s an “Onesimus” in all of us, running away – but Christ reaches out his hand to save us.

Paul writes to Philemon and says that he still has some growing to do. Don’t we all! We need to keep a teachable spirit to avoid becoming like Pharisees.

Philemon and Paul were partners in the gospel. How good to have fellow Christians to journey with! But better still, is the greatest Partner of all, our Saviour Jesus.

Philemon was a man deeply committed to his faith, and Paul and others had heard about it. Does our commitment to Jesus show?

Paul saw in Philemon a great love for other people. If we are to be committed Christians, this is where it all begins.
