Supporters’ Extra: Can We “Only” Pray?

A thoughtful comment on my hospital song challenged whether prayer should ever be considered our "only" option when it comes to helping others in need. Consider how you approach prayer in your own life - is it your first resort or your last?

Earlier in the week I shared the words from the song I wrote in hospital for my friend across the ward, who had a motorbike accident. Praying with him in his struggle seemed fruitless, and so I popped down to the chapel and ended up writing this song. Here’s the third verse again:

Lord I lift my friend to You now,
I just don't know what else to do.
I have no power of my own here,
I can only leave him with You.
